CRA's European Competition practice specialises in providing economic advice on matters of competition policy and regulation.  We assist firms and their legal advisors in all types of competition proceedings: firms considering merger and acquisition opportunities or involved in merger control proceedings; and firms undergoing investigations relating to cartels, restrictive commercial agreements, abuse of dominance or state aid.  We also provide advice to firms involved in regulatory proceedings and sector inquiries. We offer assistance on the estimation effects of damages in cartel cases, international arbitration and intellectual property disputes.

Responsibilities 

Our internship will mirror our full-time analyst role. You will work closely with senior staff on projects across a variety of industries. Tasks will be both varied and interesting and will give the participant a greater understanding of what it is like to work as an economist at CRA. A high degree of numeracy, a strong writing ability, some research experience and the ability to manipulate data are essential.

The duration of the internship is flexible (usually three to six months) and start dates are flexible, we are looking for interns to join us in 2024 onwards. This is a paid internship.

Qualifications 

  • Candidates studying economics at either Master or PhD/DPhil level.
  • Candidates should have a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialisation in industrial economics and/or econometrics.
  • Fluency in French, German, and Dutch beneficial but not essential
