Job Overview  

As an Associate Principal or Principal, you contribute to business development efforts, take ownership of final deliverables, and manage the client relationship along with Vice Presidents.  As a leader in the practice, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Building relationships with current and potential clients, drafting and presenting proposals, participating in pitches, and demonstrating firm capabilities to potential clients
  • Engaged in expert witness preparation and potential testimony
  • Effectively planning and managing assigned projects, including supervising and being accountable for the work of other team members
  • Independently conceptualizing and identifying issues, designing complex solutions, and overseeing client deliverables including directing all quality assurance efforts
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients and assisting in the presentation of our conclusions and recommendations
  • Providing strategic insights to leadership team regarding market trends, service offerings, budget, and staffing changes
  • Creating, leading, and maintaining a leveraged team environment that is positioned for continued success and expansion by actively recruiting and retaining employees, and managing team morale
  • Directing project team members on project scope, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Leading and participating in practice, office, and corporate initiatives
  • Providing written sworn statements regarding your work.


We seek candidates who have 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a track record of proven project and team management skills. An advanced degree and/or forensic certifications are beneficial, but not required with sufficient experience.  Candidates will have the ability to conduct a forensic investigation beginning to end and report out results to clients.  Individuals with prior consulting experience and/or testimony experience are preferred. 

Candidates should be proficient in forensic analysis tools such as X-ways, Magnet Axiom, Encase and others like it. Candidates should be able to mentor associates and assist developing training materials to assist all staff in reaching the same level of competence. Candidates should be familiar with scripting and automation languages such as python to assist in creating automated workflows. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to recreate their findings and focus on an evidence first approach to investigations.

The city of New York requires CRA to include a good-faith estimate of the wage range for this role. This range is specific to individuals applying to work in our New York office and considers a number of factors including but not limited to experience, education level, and expertise.  A good-faith estimate of the base wage range for this role is $125,000 - $235,000; actual total compensation may also include benefits and bonus.
