Charles River Analytics, a leading provider of intelligent systems and live, virtual, constructive (LVC) training technologies to the US Air Force Research Laboratory, seeks a highly skilled Software Engineer to develop advanced next-generation pilot training tools.
This is an applied software development position located at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio. In this engineering role, the qualified candidate will provide technical system development working closely with government stakeholders, pilot subject matter experts, and a diverse group of hardware and software engineers. Programs supported are for LVC modeling and simulation implementation and integration.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct software development while coordinating technical solutions customer requirements
Work with local on-site team members to provide technical guidance and software engineering
Plan and schedule project commitments and coordinate staff member assignments
Develop and manage solutions working closely with a variety of LVC system hardware, software, and mechanical displays and controls)
Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics and 2+ years of related experience
Knowledge and familiarity with LVC systems for scenario management (e.g., MACE, AFSIM) and network standards (e.g., DIS, HLA), medium-high fidelity simulation tools and avionics systems
Technical software-development experience with the Air Force Research Laboratory is highly desired
Experience with modern development processes for DevOps and SecDevOps on Government programs is highly desired
Fluency in programming languages (C/C++, C#, Python) and demonstrated proficiency in display visualization and graphic libraries (2D, 3D, OpenGL, DirectX); game-based environments (e.g., Unity, Unreal); familiarity integrating with communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)
Strong communication skills
