THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

As a Senior Software Engineer at charles, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our tech and product. Ensuring swift processing of extensive datasets and flawless performance are vital for our platform. You will lead the development of scalable services and optimize complex data processes closely with the Product Manager.

Your strategic decisions will directly impact our platform's functionality, empowering our team and contributing to our growth. Operating at the intersection of messaging and commerce, you will help enable a smooth conversational commerce experience, impacting millions of users and setting the stage for our next phase of growth.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Leading the design, development, and optimization of data integrations and processing systems.
• Architecting and implementing scalable data pipelines to efficiently handle large volumes of data.
• Designing and developing data models to support various analytical and reporting needs.
• Developing integrations with external systems to enable seamless data flow.
• Leading the development of TypeScript SDKs to facilitate pipeline management and deployment and enable third-party integrations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

YOU'LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND VALUES

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and integrations.
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript and at least one other high-level programming language (Java, Go, Rust, Python).
• Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Strong understanding of cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and security.
• Good understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing principles.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable and reliable data processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with data protection regulations would be a big plus such as GDPR and designing compliant data architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
