The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative was founded by Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg in 2015 to help solve some of society’s toughest challenges — from eradicating disease and improving education to addressing the needs of our local communities. Our mission is to build a more inclusive, just, and healthy future for everyone.

The Opportunity

You will be a doer who helps create processes, adopt systems and tools that implement solutions. You will be a champion in developing our culture across CZI.

We are looking for a strategic thinker and problem-solver who is eager to execute on both routine and complex tasks and projects, who can work collaboratively with internal teams and outside counsel, and who can appropriately balance operational priorities and risk. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and industry best practices to inform CZI policies, and work to ensure organizational adoption and compliance
  • Strategically engage, work with, and manage outside counsel partnerships

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of employment law experience (working both at a law firm and in-house is a plus), including experience in providing day-to-day advice to internal partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to partner effectively at all levels both internally and externally to CZI (including an ability to work efficiently and effectively with outside counsel)
  • Ability to think systematically in improving organization-wide policies and practices
  • Proven ability to de-escalate and resolve conflict
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
