The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub San Francisco (CZ Biohub SF) (https://www.czbiohub.org/sf/) is an independent nonprofit research institute that brings together three powerhouse universities - Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UC San Francisco - into a single collaborative technology and discovery engine. The Opportunity
The Operations Assistant at the CZ Biohub SF is responsible for ensuring a polished and professional front desk presence and maintaining a welcoming and efficient office environment. This role involves various administrative and operational tasks, including reception duties, facility maintenance, and emergency coordination.
You will
Reception Duties:
- Represent CZ Biohub SF in a highly polished and professional manner
- Greet and assist employees and guests, creating a welcoming office environment
- Cover the reception desk during Biohub business hours (8:00AM - 5:00PM)
- Issue parking vouchers and handle visitor inquiries
Facility Maintenance:
- Request additional cleanings for carpets, chairs, lights, and equipment in coordination with IT
- Maintain conference rooms on the 3rd floor, including wiping down tables, pushing in chairs, and cleaning whiteboards
- Restock front desk supplies and PPE, including BinaxNOW kits, candy supplies, gloves, masks, and towels
- Perform monthly fire extinguisher checks
- Lead the emergency coordinator/floor warden program
- Conduct rounds for lab-supported equipment, including DI water, compressed air, and vacuum systems
Mail and Deliveries:
- Check mailrooms and distribute packages and mail
- Drop off outgoing mail and provide backup for vendor deliveries
- Receive shipments from other departments (including but not limited to Lab Ops) as needed
- Support upcoming projects and tasks for Operations across office, facilities, and laboratory operations as needed
You have
Essential –
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and team lift up to 50 pounds
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in operations, facilities, or a similar role
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach
The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub requires all employees, contractors, and interns, regardless of work location or type of role, to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, including a booster vaccine dose, if eligible, by their start date. Compensation
- $60,000 - $80,000
