Change.org is searching for a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead marketing and communications in the United States and Canada, to shape brand perception and drive growth. As a key member of our Marketing and Communication team, you will partner with leadership to develop a global marketing and communications strategy.

Key Outcomes:

  • Partner with VP Marketing on our global marketing and communications strategy 
  • Lead Communications teams in the US & Canada across owned and earned media
  • Demonstrate measurable improvement in desired brand perception
  • Contribute to growth in platform activity and revenue

The most important core competencies for the role are: 

  • Strong background in marketing, communications, and brand management  
  • Track record of success developing and executing multi-channel campaigns powered by creative storytelling that drive perception change and inspire action from key audience
  • Notable experience leveraging organic social media and influencer relationships for business impact
  • Experience leading a corporate communications program, including crisis management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and performance manage a team

Target experience:

  •  10+  years experience in Marketing Communications
  •  3+ years experience leading Marketing Communications Teams
  •  Extensive experience in the US and also has experience working in Canada
  •  Experience working for a user-generated platform

Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. The annual salary of a Director of Marketing and Communications is $230,000 in San Francisco/NYC, $218,500 Austin/Boston/DC/LA/Seattle and $195,000 in all other US locations.
