Change.org is searching for a QA Automation Engineer to drive software quality and attain excellence by designing, supporting, maintaining and developing our automation  testing framework.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest non-profit owned tech platform focused on civic action with 80m monthly users, 50,000 campaigns launched on the site every month, and a revenue model that has grown by 500% in 2 years. We’re growing quickly, and our users win campaigns for change once every hour. From strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa; calling for Racial Justice in the US; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; to fighting violence against women in India.

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who has strong critical thinking and communication skills, is an expert in QA automation tools and testing methodologies, enjoys mentoring junior engineers, and has a passion for expanding our platform to mobilize hundreds of millions of people to take deeper civic action.

You will be remote in either the United States or Canada and report to our QA Engineering Manager.  As a key member of our QA Engineering Team, you will:

- Proactively drive the ongoing implementation of automated testing and our CI/CD using CircleCi/Jenkins
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured automation test strategy, test scenarios and end-to-end test scripts using TestCafe testing framework
- Effectively utilize Code and Test management tools like GitHub
- Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance and load testing

The most important skills and capabilities for the role are:

- Ownership & Results: You prioritize based on what's important and urgent for automated testing. You own what you do and you drive excellent results.

- Technical know-how: You are an expert in QA automated tools and testing methodologies:
- Expert in Javascript. Familiar with HTML, TypeScript, Node.Js
- Proficient in working with test frameworks, preference for TestCafe or similar
- Experience working within a continuous deployment pipeline. We use Jenkins and CircleCI
- API testing experience using Postman or similar
- Load testing experience is a plus

- Analysis, Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: You have strong critical thinking skills.  You proactively communicate with different stakeholders and teams to help guide your work, and suggest alternatives when necessary. You mentor junior members of the team and the rest of the engineering teams.

- Communication: You are able to articulate complex technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical people. You communicate clearly, and maintain excellent working relationships with other engineering leaders.

Target Experience
- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation, building and maintaining Test Automation Frameworks. Preference for experience using tools like TestCafe or Selenium WebDriver.
- 1+ years of continuous integration platforms like CircleCl or Jenkins.
- 3+ years experience writing with JavaScript.

It’s rare that a candidate has a ‘perfect’ set of relevant experiences, we do not expect this, and all candidates are encouraged to apply, even if you are missing some of the items in the list above.

Change.org is a global company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each city. For example, the hourly rate in San Francisco for a QA Automation Engineer would be $75/hr and a Senior QA Automation Engineer would be $87.50/hr.  In exceptional circumstances, we may offer below the listed rate for high potential candidates with less experience, or above it for candidates with significantly more experience.

Interested? Great! Here's what you should know:
