The Team
Our team is responsible for providing a scalable, enterprise-grade Identity and Access Management (IAM) infrastructure. We enable customers to access the right resources when needed while keeping them safe.
Our team mainly owns Celonis’s identity provider, user management, and API gateway services. We evolve those in three different areas:
Secure the system which includes upgrading our technology to well-proven standards, making sure our systems are performant, reliable, and available. Our service is at the core of our product, without it, customers cannot use EMS at all.
Making it easier for customers to get started, for example, through different solutions like Single Sign-On or programmatic user provisioning and de-provisioning.
Enabling new use cases that are not possible without early infrastructure developments and changes (e.g. modernizing authentication and authorization to allow modern permission systems, bring your own key requirements, etc.).
The Role
Celonis is seeking a talented Java Software Engineer. As the main focus will be on the Java backend, you will bring your expertise in Java and Spring Boot to the table. Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like Angular will be a plus. Join us and take the opportunity to make a real impact in the world of process automation.
The work you’ll do
- Design and implement critical high-performance systems to handle the ever-growing request rate on our backend infrastructure
- Evangelize best practices in identity management usage and end-to-end architecture
- Set an example for and mentor and grow your teammates
- Recognize and take action to improve the developer work environment
- Write clean, understandable, and testable code
- Provide feedback on the designs and code of peers
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Document development procedures, concepts, and knowledge
- Build, launch, and maintain features in production
- Help define a fun and inclusive engineering culture
The qualifications you need
- BS in Computer science; Masters or Ph.D. preferred
- 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Experienced in programming with Java
- Good understanding of Spring framework
- Familiar with containerization technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Nice to have: experience with modern frontend frameworks - Angular or other Javascript frameworks and monitoring tools like Datadog
