We're Celonis, the global leader in Process Mining technology and one of the world's fastest-growing SaaS firms. We believe there is a massive opportunity to unlock productivity by placing data and intelligence at the core of business processes - and for that, we need you to join us.

The Team:

As part of the Engineering Product Excellence (EPE) team, you work with a group of people that have deep expertise in their fields and build the processes that shape the Celonis product. You’ll work closely with many engineering roles including Developers, SREs, SDETs, and QEs, advocating shift left and building the practices that make high quality, reliable systems part of our DNA. You’ll work with the Product team to understand the areas of our system that are high risk based on usage and historical data. And you’ll get a chance to grow your career while working with industry leaders to build a product that can scale 100x its current user base.

At Celonis, We Live for Customer Value. We want a product that consistently delivers at or above expectations for our customers, and we’re looking for your keen insights to help us deliver on that promise!

The Role:

As a Senior Quality Engineer you have a keen understanding of what it takes to deliver a high quality product. You will define the overall effort to ensure that innovations from our development team will be implemented in the right way in our software. At Celonis, the whole team owns quality - and with your experience you'll drive defining a collaborative test strategy. You'll work closely with Product to understand and advocate for the end user experience, and closely with Developers to ensure we are testing efficiently and avoiding duplication at each test level. You are not bothered by getting your hands dirty with manual testing, but are bothered by repetitive tasks and capable of coming up with creative solutions to avoid repetition.  Hands-on experience means you understand the role of test automation, and can create scripts independently or pair with other members of our chapter on larger projects. You believe in doing the job well - but you also understand the balance between elegant solutions, time to market, and product quality so you focus on lean, clear approaches. Proud of the approach you've driven, you can provide clear data on the quality of the project to drive code deployment.

The work you’ll do:

  • Operate independently as part of a team delivering test services, working with project delivery teams to consistently advocate push left practices and drive customer satisfaction of our product offerings.
  • Own responsibility for one or more complex areas of testing.
  • Deliver robust, complete test coverage with minimal overlap between tests on different layers
  • Drive high quality test coverage in the team, ensuring definition of done includes minimal but sufficient automation and recognize the level of automation necessary to reach the goals.
  • Collaborate across the EPE Chapter, contributing to efforts to improve overall process and quality.
  • Live by data not opinions, ensuring your agile team consistently meets auditability goals and that your team KPIs reflect the truth of overall quality status.

The qualifications you need:

  • Demonstrated track record as a test engineer with a minimum of 3 years focusing on backend service testing and test automation.
  • Creating robust automated API tests/System integration tests within microservice architecture having in mind Test Pyramid and layered approach to testing
  • Expertise in defining platform quality needs, identifying quality risks, ensuring mitigations by testing and other methods, reporting results and proposing solutions on how our platform can be improved
  • Working experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools
  • Working knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes, Linux Bash, and/or other similar tools and technologies
  • Working understanding of Distributed Systems, Cloud Technologies
  • Proficient programming using Java/Python or other similar programming languages
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively with diverse fast-paced teams

What Celonis can offer you:

  • The unique opportunity to work with industry-leading process mining technology
  • Investment in your personal growth and skill development (clear career paths, internal mobility opportunities, L&D platform, mentorships, and more)
  • Great compensation and benefits packages (equity (restricted stock units), life insurance, time off, generous leave for new parents from day one, and more)
