The role you'll play:

CB Insights is looking for a highly collaborative and communicative team player and self-starter who wants to grow themselves professionally to fill our Senior Accountant position. This position has multiple facets and we are interested in candidates that are eager to be part of an exciting and growing company. 

About the Finance team:

You will be a part of the finance, legal, and operations departments, a close knit team that possesses strong work ethics while knowing how to have a bit of fun along the way. Our team touches every department in the company, we assist in the growth of our organization and  improve its effectiveness.

Your main tasks:

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by reconciling and analyzing account information.
  • Participation in month-end and annual financial closings. Own various month-end reconciliations and analysis.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement on existing processes, and create new ones where there are gaps. Be innovative.
  • Assists in external audit by providing schedules for general ledger.
  • Assists in sales tax calculations and payments.
  • Assist in preparation of complete, accurate, and timely financial statements.
  • Help with ad-hoc requests.

What you bring to the table:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business with 4 to 7 years related general accounting experience (minimum years of experience is flexible with the right background, especially strong Big 4 / national CPA audit experience).
  • Experience with Intacct or other cloud-based ERP / strong desire to learn if no experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including expert level Advanced Excel (very comfortable with pivot tables / VLOOKUP / SUMIFS / etc. and strong desire to constantly improve. Bonus points if you love hotkeys).
  • Hands-on experience in full cycle of monthly close (flexible if coming from 3+ years of CPA audit experience).
  • Deep understanding of GAAP is a must.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong relational mindset when it comes to thinking through the flow of data from one system to another.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
