Help create rich, engaging content for our thriving new Events Business

CB Insights is seeking an Editor of Events, a role dedicated to curating onstage content for the company’s in-person and virtual events. CB Insights’ current lineup of events include Future of Fintech and Future of Health, conferences which address what’s next and what’s changing in financial services and healthcare respectively. 

Our conferences are highly regarded in the industry for attracting speakers from the C-Suite. We aim for bold, live conversations for the majority of our speakers, with only select speakers relying on prepared presentations. This requires the Editor of the Event to have deep knowledge in the industries to help recruit the most relevant speakers and craft interesting and provocative interview questions.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Crafting annual themes and ensuring the most pressing topics are addressed Selecting and securing relevant, high-profile speakers and moderators including startup founders/CEOs, c-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies, partners at leading VC firms, journalists from reputable business publications, and tech influencers.

  • Recruit tech companies to present on-stage demos 

  • Building conference agendas, crafting session titles and descriptions, developing interview questions, and exploring interactive session formats that will drive attendee engagement

  • Establishing and setting goals related to speaker recruitment and completion of conference agendas.

  • Coordinating with the operations team to execute sponsor contracts such as development of case studies, workshops, and roundtable discussions.

  • Crafting copy related to speakers and conference themes that can be leveraged for event webpages, email communications, and CB Insights’ newsletters

  • Handling logistics such as scheduling and leading prep calls with speakers, executing talent agreements, coordinating with A/V and virtual event platform vendors, scheduling pre-recorded interviews and tech demos, and managing RSVPs to invite-only discussions.

  • Work with CS/BD, Intelligence and Research teams to develop trends, key themes and speaker targets



Skills and past experience needed for this position include: 

  • 5+ years of experience recruiting high-caliber speakers for technology conferences and/or events in healthcare and financial services 

  • Experience programming virtual events 

  • Proven ability to research and develop conference themes and topics.

  • Ability to write session descriptions and pointed interview questions

  • Must be a team-player willing to assist colleagues and work alongside teams such as research/editorial, marketing, and sales. 

  • Proficiency in Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.)

  • Ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced environments
