cBEYONData is seeking a Senior Microsoft BI developer with expertise and knowledge of security models to support our federal customer's multi-domain technology platform which offers military and business decision makers, analysts, and users at all levels unprecedented access to authoritative enterprise data and structured analytics in a scalable, reliable, and secure environment. 

As a Microsoft Power BI developer, you will offer technical expertise in securely designing, developing and maintaining applications within the Army 365 ecosystem. The role requires an understanding of Power BI administration consoles, and the capabilities related to governance, security and operations management.  In addition, as a senior resource you will contribute to the development of security policies and procedures, staying updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, and mitigation techniques. Your commitment to maintaining high cybersecurity standards and your ability to adapt to evolving security landscapes will be critical to your success in this role. 

As a Senior Microsoft BI developer you will design, architect, and implement applications within the Power Platform suite of tools – Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages.  Leveraging your expertise in Microsoft technologies, you will work to identify and mitigate potential security risks, providing robust, reliable, and effective solutions. Your role will involve close collaboration with clients and internal teams to understand specific requirements and tailor the applications to meet their needs. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, creating calculated columns, measures, and KPIs. 
  • Proficiency in building interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop. 
  • Knowledge of Power BI administration tasks such as managing workspaces, security, and data refresh schedules. 
  • Expertise to be able to contribute to the development of security policies and procedures, staying updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, and mitigation techniques. 
  • Expertise to maintaining high cybersecurity standards and your ability to adapt to evolving security landscapes. 
  • Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and methodologies, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights through visualization. 
  • Proficiency in creating custom visuals and advanced visualizations for storytelling and data exploration. 
  • Ability to connect Power BI to various data sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and online services. 
  • Experience with Power BI Service for publishing, sharing, and collaborating on reports and dashboards. 
  • Designing intuitive and interactive dashboards tailored to different user requirements. 
  • Familiarity with SQL for data querying and manipulation, writing and optimizing SQL queries to extract data for analysis in Power BI. 
  • Draft requirements, designs, SOPs, training, and other documentation for client use. This requires a good eye for grammar and readability.  
  • Work in a team environment and be eager to learn from more experienced co-workers and subject-matter experts.  
  • Communicate in a polished and professional manner with management and clients. 

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of experience with PowerBI 
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL 
  • 5+ years of experience working in a big data and cloud environment 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience working in an agile development environment 
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to display a positive, can-do attitude to solve the challenges of tomorrow
