About the Role

Following rapid business growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our Operations team and play a crucial role in driving our ongoing business success. Reporting to the Operations Manager and CFO, you will be an integral part of a team that supports our leaders and team members across all HR processes and initiatives. This includes employment relations, talent development, and continuous improvement projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape how we work together and contribute directly to our company's success.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the whole lifecycle of people management across the CB Group
  • Provide HR advice and support to internal managers and direct staff queries, with support from external HR Consultants
  • Create, implement and execute regular HR trainings for acting managers across the business
  • Lead HR performance management and employee relations
  • Champion and embed the CB Civil culture and values throughout the business
  • Prepare HR documentation and obtain necessary management approvals for contracts, variations, transfer letters and disciplinary documents
  • Oversight of INZ processes such as visa and relocation processing and pastoral care for international prospects
  • Create weekly and monthly reports for the Operations Manager and SLT that documents notable HR opportunities and metrics
  • Manage and update HR technology stack; Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
  • Drive adoption and utilisation of relevant systems within their user group: managers and staff
  • Keep up to date records of staff contracts, benefits, transfers, allowances, disciplinaries and all other formalised paperwork
  • Discover, lead and organise all co-curricular activities for the business, including sporting events, the Auckland Christmas Party, speaking engagements and more


About You

  • 3+ years in HR Advisory
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing or logistics industries preferred.
  • You’re an HR generalist with previous exposure to, or interest in, performance management, administration, management of entire employee life cycle, advisory, redundancies, ER, management of HR systems, HR strategy and recruitment.
  • Ambitious in your career and seeking autonomy to truly make your mark.
  • Passionate about HR with a strong ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Out of the box' thinker who’s always looking for opportunities to innovate.
  • Caring, detailed, professional, and resilient.
  • Previous experience working with Senior Leadership Teams in high-paced business environments.
