Cazoo was founded in 2018 to transform the way people buy used cars

What you’ll be doing:

We are continually striving for the highest quality, and work across many focused teams following agile methods with Software Craftsmanship principles and XP practices. Our engineers embrace TDD and pair programming and teams own quality and testing as a whole. Your role will be the testing specialist in the team, facilitating that testing mind-set during design and story breakdown as well as weighing in on testing strategies and providing guidance and coaching within your agile team and the wider engineering community.

Our teams are cross-functional and have a product manager, product designer, software engineers and quality engineers as well as subject matter experts in some instances. We subscribe to a DevOps “you build it, you run it” mindset with the customer at the heart of what we do.

The architecture of our tech stack is an event driven fully serverless cloud native solution written in Typescript with React on the front end and many third party integrations on the backend. We encourage quality engineers to pair with software engineers and knowledge of or keenness to learn these technologies will be an advantage.

What we need from you:

We’re after an experienced software tester with a quality mindset who is excited by the challenge of testing software at scale. You’re at home in an agile environment and your inquisitive nature and desire to dig into the unknown are two of your strengths.

You should have a deep understanding of various testing approaches, including exploratory testing and/or automation. You should also be comfortable with your skills and experience in testing the ideas for new features just as much as testing the designs, the code and the software itself, using a risk based mind-set for structuring your testing.

You’ll have experience with testing complex APIs including 3rd party integrations.

You will work with people who care about well written, test-driven, clean code, delightful user experiences. The team works very closely, and like to pair on pretty much everything.

Our teams decide the right tool for the job, so you should be comfortable doing this too. We have a lot of fun discussing the merits of different technologies and tools and we want people who can join and lead these conversations.

Having a desire to expand and master something new means you're a good fit for us. Because of this culture, we also like our folks to be great communicators while being open, honest and direct.

As a Principal, you'll work across several teams to advise on test architecture and system design, with a. focus on risk and security.

Interview Process:

We understand that your time is in demand and as such keep our interview process as quick and painless as possible, outlining all timeframes in advance for you to plan around. The interview process will comprise of three remote video calls:

  •     Practical interview to assess testing skill set (60 minutes)
  •     A Scenario-based presentation with a Q&A (90 minutes)
  •     Values-led interview with a mixed panel, with an open discussion about the role

We will give you a decision and hopefully an offer within 24 hours.
