Position Overview:
At Castle Hill Gaming, our QA Intern is a professional who tests the functionality and usability of new or existing software before it goes live to ensure it is bug-free. They work closely with developers, providing feedback on what needs improvement in the code execution in order to produce top-quality programs that meet customer expectations. Additionally, you will assess software quality through manual and automated testing. 

You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and issues.

In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail, logic and excellent communication skills. If you are also competent in using computer hardware and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you!
Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly.

*This is an in office position Monday-Friday in our Charlottesville, VA Office. No remote work option*

Intern Requirements and Qualifications:
•    Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program or have graduated within the past 6 months.
•    Must be able to work for at least a 90 day period

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•    Reviewing and analyzing system specifications.
•    Reporting and documenting technical issues.
•    Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and approaches.
•    Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
•    Document software defects.
•    Help investigate Field and Customer problems as needed.
•    Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
•    Perform on-site testing on custom hardware.
•    Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Work Environment:
•    Intern in Office Positions.
•    Flexible Hours as long as working during ‘Core Business Hours’.
•    Brand new office building in Charlottesville, VA.
•    Team Collaboration Environment.

Education, Training and Experience Required:

Required:
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
•    Excellent attention to detail.
•    Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
•    Strong organizational skills.
•    Conceptual ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
•    Highschool degree or equivalent.
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
•    Able to embrace and excel in a small company environment that may require effort outside of your typical role.

Preferred:
•    Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar.
•    Functional knowledge of test management software (e.g., qTest, Zephyr, Cucumber).
•    Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
•    Familiarity with Agile SDLC.
•    Successful experience with manual testing processes. Automated testing experience a plus.
•    Experience with version control and issue tracking.
•    Experience with Jira.
•    Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
