Director of Business Development

As the Director of Business Development for the Cashmere Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the continued growth and success of the organization. You will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding our client portfolio. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and results-driven professional with a proven track record in business development within the culture marketing landscape where our teams deploy marketing strategies that are inclusive of and sensitive to the cultural dynamics of a wide range of communities. Our goal is to connect authentically with audiences from various backgrounds, including but not limited to those identified by ethnicity, culture, and sexual orientation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with Cashmere Agency's goals and objectives.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify potential business opportunities and areas for growth. Maintain expertise in the ever-evolving capabilities within the Cashmere and the Global Media.Monks ecosystem. 
  • Sales Funnel Ownership: Drive the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal close and onboarding. 
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and engage with potential clients, understand their business needs, and position Cashmere as the go-to partner for culturally resonant marketing solutions. 
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to create compelling and tailored proposals that address client needs and showcase Cashmere Agency's capabilities.
  • Relationship Building: Proactively and strategically cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction, repeat business, and positive referrals.
  • Revenue Generation: Meet and exceed revenue targets by effectively negotiating contracts, closing deals, and expanding client engagements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams both within Cashmere Agency and our global Media.Monks network, including creative, strategy, and account management, to ensure the seamless sale and onboarding of client partnerships.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and analyses of business development activities, pipeline status, and key performance indicators to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of 6+ years in business development, preferably within the marketing/advertising space 
  • Experience working in creative and culture-marketing environments is a plus 
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Charismatic and credible when presenting to executive level clients.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across across.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and seize opportunities.
  • Passion for and understanding of cultural trends and diverse communities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Media.Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Media.Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Media.Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
