JOB DESCRIPTION

The Conversational AI team is a talented and humble group of people with backgrounds in Product, Design, Data Science and Engineering, that are focused on Human-Computer interaction (HCI). Our core product is a communication platform that car buyers, sellers and Carvana Advocates rely on every day for a seamless car shopping experience. A core component of our communication platform is an AI-driven virtual assistant that uses text and voice to communicate with customers. We focus immensely on the end-consumer and build our systems ground-up to deliver on that experience.

As a core member of our Conversational AI team, you will get to help define and design the core functionality of our AI Assistants as well as see those efforts through to production. As a member of the product team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver impact on every aspect of the purchase process, from search to vehicle delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define new functionality of our Virtual Assistant by working with operations teams and analyzing customer conversations for new patterns and conversation topics
  • Track and report on customer engagement with the Virtual Assistant by different stages of the shopping funnel, measuring conversion and impact on scaling the business
  • Work closely with our Data Science team to define new skills and knowledge that the AI needs to learn to assist customers
  • Implement data classification processes by working with other product and operational leaders
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, product managers and data scientists

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years in a Product or Product Analyst role
  • Experience in SQL and relational databases like Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server
  • Outcome-oriented, and data-driven decision making
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to learn and absorb technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience
