Product Marketing Manager II is seeking a proven Product Marketing Manager II to partner across our matrix of product portfolios. In coordination with product management, this role works closely with sales to secure market insights and inform go-to-market strategy for the products. Success in this role is the ability to influence product strategy and help shape product offerings that will help propel the brand in the marketplace and amplify our value to dealer customers. This role understands business objectives and marketing strategies, to effectively partner with Product Managers in the formulation of compelling product vision and roadmap.

Product Marketing Managers at maintain a close relationship with sales, acting as the liaison between product and sales. This position understands sales goals and challenges and develops marketing strategies and tactics to capitalize on market opportunities. This role is expected to maintain a strategic view across the business, all product portfolios, and all channels, looking for opportunities to align messages and create sales and dealer impact, while managing competing interests.



Market & Customer Intelligence:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the market, including industry trends, market problems, key influencers, and competitive activities
  • Develop expertise of our customers, including market segments, customer perception, value drivers, business process & needs, and use of our products/competitive products
  • Communicate market & customer insights cross-functionally to help inform product, marketing and sales team efforts
  • Work with sales strategy team to understand data on market size, growth, share and account penetration; use to inform marketing plans & programs
  • Maintain a close relationship with the field and provide feedback from sales and customers regarding needs, product issues and opportunities for updates, modifications, and future product development

Business & Marketing Strategy:

  • Collaborate with core product teams to help develop product business strategies and inform key components of business plans including value model, target audience, pricing strategy, sales strategy, and operational plans
  • Develop the plan to operationalize products internally and externally; work cross-functionally to ensure all teams successfully execute the plan
  • Act as SME to the integrated marketing communications team for the development of comprehensive marketing strategies, programs, and tactics
  • Provide inputs to help develop messaging that differentiates our product from our competitors

Sales Alignment:

  • Continually evaluate customer needs and market dynamics, recommending sales & dealer programs & tools as needed to retain accounts and grow new business
  • Effectively articulate product value propositions, plans and messaging to senior leadership, sales organization, and key internal stakeholders at regular intervals throughout product development and market execution
  • Work closely with sales management to capitalize on opportunities with key accounts
  • Act as product & market strategist and resource to the sales organization for messaging and presentations as needed
  • Collaborate with the marketing communications team and training department to translate plans and to message for effective sales communication and education; help develop sales tools and programs to support the selling process


  • Act as a leader, facilitator, and influencer across the organization to gain support for plans and programs, negotiating conflicts as necessary and keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged
  • Act as an SME and voice of to the industry to help facilitate thought-leadership efforts and position as a leader in the automotive media space



  • Proven track record of working effectively with multiple teams in a matrixed organization
  • Adept at recognizing business issues/opportunities, and developing objectives and solutions that take into account linkages and dependencies
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fluid and fast-paced environment
  • Should relish the opportunity and have the depth of experience to play a significant role in defining business processes in a changing organizational structure
  • Must be a comfortable and poised presenter of complex content, providing subject-matter expertise to senior marketing professionals and customers
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and competing priorities while coordinating activities across multiple teams in a matrix organization
  • Strong management abilities demonstrated through previous employment requiring employee development and coaching
  • Attention to detail is critical, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical functions into customer benefits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 



  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other business concentration is required; prior automotive experience is highly preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Product Marketing for an online business with a B2B focus
  • In-depth knowledge of online media and marketing practices and familiarity with the significant players in the digital media marketplace
  • Demonstrated marketing success
  • Experience supporting sales teams with product marketing programs
