We are looking for a high-energy, forward-thinking marketing professional that can balance strategic thinking with flawless execution to join us in scaling Carousell in our next phase of growth. A mix of a quantitative growth hacker and intuitive brand builder with effective communications flair, the VP of marketing will deliver both near term performance and build long-term brand equity for Carousell. This role reports to the SVP of Growth and Strategy.

 

You will:

  • Responsibility for all consumer marketing in Carousell to deliver user growth and generating leads for our customers (dealers, agents, advertisers)
  • Set the marketing strategy - positioning, target segments, creative direction & marketing mix to acquire and retain users for our core marketplace as well as in our verticals (autos & property)
  • Lead and manage our marketing functions , currently comprising Digital Marketing (SEO, CRM, Digital acquisition), Brand Marketing, PR/ Comms and Marketing Operations 
  • Build out new marketing capabilities and centres of excellence (e.g. product marketing, social media)
  • Build Carousell brand equity and brand love 
  • Act as a recognized and active expert in marketing, brand and voice of the customer for the company by continually educating and sharing work and knowledge as well as blazing a trail of creativity and innovation
  • Promote a work environment that fosters creative thinking, innovation, rational risk-taking and tradeoffs
  • Work cross-functionally to bring our brand to life in all touchpoints

You have: 

  • 15+ years of marketing leadership experience with a track record of proven success as a marketing leader, with at least 5 years of experience in consumer marketing roles
  • Proven leadership skills at senior exec level
  • Experience managing brands at global level 
  • Interpersonal skills to lead and manage a diverse team of 40+ marketing and creative professionals across geographies
  • Demonstrated experience growing a company operating in a competitive and evolving marketplace - can think from a growth hacking point of view as well as understand the value of building long term brand equity
  • Possess a positive growth mindset and draws energy from change as an opportunity
  • Ability to marry insights & data with storytelling, narrative development, and messaging
  • Experience building and scaling teams, budgets, tools, and programs
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, start up environments
  • Detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once
