As a fast-expanding organisation, Carousell is looking for a People Generalist, with a focus in recruitment for our India Development Centre. This is for a 1-year contract and you will be supporting both technical & non-technical hires in Bangalore, depending on the business needs.

You will report to the Head of Recruitment & People Operations Manager. You will make sure that all the administrative and office operation tasks are handled effectively and on a timely basis. You will also help to facilitate and ensure all internal and external communications.

You Will:

Talent Aquisition

  • Source candidates using internal database, various Internet sites, schools, job fairs, outplacement firms and other methods as needed to fill job orders
  • Conduct market mapping of talent to build a readily and healthy pipeline of candidates for recruiters and leadership team
  • Review resumes and evaluates applicants through the interview process to reveal job skills, work history, education, training, and compensation needs
  • Administer technical tests/other challenges as part of the interview process to evaluate skills
  • Schedule interviews with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain close contact with employees to manage their start date, ensure smooth onbroading process & answer their queries (if any)

Workplace Experience

  • Ensure that our India co-working office is well-functioning and has a homelike environment; the office has to be fun, clean and conducive:
    • Coordinating with the team to ensure cleanliness of the office
    • Organise in-office recreational activities such as board/card games sessions or even KTV sessions
    • Gather announcements from various team representatives
    • Weekly Family Fridays. Family Fridays is an informal All-Hands Meeting held every Friday, where we have lunch together as a “family” over presentations by our colleagues
    • Monthly welcome dinners for new joiners and birthday celebrations
    • Take charge of internal communications within the organisation (include our international teams)

People Operations

  • Secretarial support for benefits administration (e.g. enrolling & termination of Insurance and pension coverage)
  • Procurement of IT equipment, in general, anything to help our team get settled and serving our community
  • Mail Management
  • Administration support for submissions/ lodgements of documents to the India government
  • Coordinate travel logistics and arrangements (e.g. transportation, accommodation) for International and HQ teams, for business trips, training, and onboarding sessions

You Have:  

  • 2-3 years of experience in recruiting talent and in HR generalist areas such as Business partnering & Operations
  • Good interviewing skills with a focus on delivering a good candidate interview experience with Carousell
  • Adaptable, resourceful & creativity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Able to organise and prioritise work effectively with minimal guidance
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills, both oral and written
  • A cheerful and bubbly personality
  • Bonus if you have experience working in a tech/startup company e.g. e-commerce
