CARMERA is looking for a Director of Marketing to provide ownership, thought leadership and hands-on expertise across key marketing activities. This role is part of the Go-To-Market team working cross functionally with Business Development and Product to shape and deploy insightful marketing campaigns that act as force multipliers for our market success.

This will be our first full-time Marketing leader, reporting to the CBDO and interacting frequently with the CEO and CPO.

Your Role:

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Product and Business Development to own, coordinate and execute market shaping programs:

    • Comms/PR

      • Manage PR Agency dictating owned and earned media priorities, monitoring effectiveness and reporting results

      • Own content creation and editorial voice on behalf of the org and leadership with minimal editing required

      • Coordinate social and email amplification with support from external resource

      • Manage event calendar and execution with support from external resources

    • Sales Enablement

      • Manage creation and maintenance of BD/sales collateral (website, decks, fact sheets, videos, …) with support from external resources

    • Brand Positioning

      • Evolve and expand upon industry positioning based on ongoing insights on strategic and competitive landscape

      • Act as a thought partner to the GTM and executive team, providing forward-thinking insights and recommendations for the company’s marketing strategy and execution priorities

      • Establish core marketing objectives that align with the company’s strategic expansion plans; including top of the funnel awareness goals, and bottom of the funnel conversion goals

      • Create and manage regular communications to internally update projects and progress for the Board of Directors and leadership team

      • Develop actionable, data-driven insights as the Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Market to inform product and marketing strategy

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or greater

  • 5-10 years of experience in strategic marketing with direct involvement in most responsibilities above, indirect involvement in remaining items

  • Able to switch between strategic and tactical thinking seamlessly

  • Experience in fast-paced,  startup environments and a passion for working in frontier technology

  • Experience in B2B / industrial sectors

  • Execution-oriented self-starter thriving in fast-paced, high “white space” environments

  • Deep experience in content and copywriting, with seamless ability to internalize and enhance company voice (e.g. on CARMERA blog)

  • Sweats the details and has impeccable organizational and time management skills

  • Board and customer-ready deck and collateral production skills, with deep respect for tasteful design

  • Clear, concise oral communicator (less = more)

  • Deeply conscientious, trusted, approachable, collaborative; always putting company and team first

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Automotive, Robotics, Geo and/or Data businesses

  • Experience rolling out broad-scale/global marketing campaigns by leveraging corporate partners with large mouthpieces and budgets

  • Speaking, presentation or general evangelism experience at industry events

  • Proficiency with modern productivity tools like G Suite, Slack, Trello, Adobe Creative Suite, ...
