CARMERA is looking for a Business Development executive to support the CEO and leadership team in managing CARMERA’s strategic sales goals and commercial pipeline through to the next stages of company growth. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Expand upon existing automotive customer engagements, getting them to scale and/or shepherding them through research, POC and commercialization
  • Develop strong relationships with key automotive ecosystem stakeholders to develop an execution strategy that considers key stakeholder priorities
  • Maintain close touch with the product team, understanding emerging capabilities and challenges of CARMERA technology, and reporting back regularly on market needs
  • Prospect and cultivate new, high value automotive and MaaS partnerships
  • Develop a well-researched, continually updated, market-validated pricing scheme for our commercial products and services, both near and long-term
  • Report frequently to the management team and board on pipeline, projections, challenges and implications for near-term tactics as well as long-term strategy
  • Develop a growth plan for the sales org based on commercial demand, available resources and clear measures of success
  • Hire and manage a team as growth plan above is realized
  • Act as a key thought leader and spokesperson for the company, externally and internally

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Deep experience with large-scale, long-cycle enterprise BD and sales
  • Strong network in automotive, mapping and/or transportation sectors
  • Consultative, relationship-driven, product and strategy-centric sensibility with both customers and internal team members
  • Ability to thrive in both “lone wolf” environments, and in building out teams and scaling sales processes
  • Experience with day-to-day enterprise BD / sales team management, including coaching, goal setting and career development
  • Proficiency with sales productivity tools including CRM and reporting
  • Excellent communications, including deck writing, pitch delivery, board meetings, team offsites and informal interactions at networking events and around the office
  • Mastered the balance of startup scrappiness + big company gravitas
  • Excellent fit with the “Carmerian” culture, including our People and Voice tenets
  • Frequent travel between CARMERA offices, customer locations and key industry events, including international travel

Desired

  • Polished public speaker / evangelist, able to pursue the most valuable marketing opportunities and represent CARMERA in the marketplace
  • Knowledge of business customs and language in key international / automotive industry regions across Asia and EMEA
  • Experience in the fleet, logistics or vehicle telematics industry

This position may be based in our New York, Seattle, San Francisco or Detroit offices, but we will also consider candidates based in other parts of the US.
