About the team
As the Head of Shops and Order Anything, you will lead all commercial and strategic elements of Careem’s e-commerce marketplace and Order Anything delivery service verticals. You will be responsible for scaling the business across additional revenue streams and geographies.
We’re looking for someone with an outstanding understanding of e-commerce, technology and operations who can lead and scale our offerings. Our ideal candidate is someone with a strong sense of the industry, amazing business acumen, and exceptional leadership skills.
What you'll do
- Own all markets’ P&L from top line to EBITDA for Shops and Order Anything
- Develop, own and drive the strategy plan in collaboration with your team and in line with Careem’s strategic guidelines
- Adapt the strategy to markets, ensuring you’re prioritizing the right projects based on local user needs
- Recommend and pursue new growth levers by identifying gaps in our value proposition and users needs; work with operations and markets teams to deliver those levers
- Define the go-to-market strategy and roadmap to enter new markets and scale local teams
- Be a senior member of the leadership team in Careem, reporting directly to the MD of verticals
- Lead a dedicated team across different commercial functions including operations, business development, account management
- Own the product/tech roadmap and motivate the team to execute on it
- Partner with supporting departments and teams outside your organization (including marketing, finance, legal and central operations) to best support you in the strategy execution, daily operations and processes
What you'll need
Successful candidates will have a passionate commitment to improving the lives of people, an insane focus on excellence and customer centricity, and a strong alignment with our core values and purpose.
- At least 10+ years of experience.. Time spent in tech, consulting or a start-up is a plus.
- 5+ years managerial experience, building, coaching and scaling teams to meet business needs. Business leadership or executive experience is a strong advantage.
- You have experience managing a large P&L.
- You have exceptional problem-solving skills
- You proactively recruit, coach and mentor top talent and ensure the team is fully engaged and delivering its very best work.
- You are an excellent communicator with any audience.
- You are comfortable managing teams across multiple markets (remotely)
