Job Overview

The purpose of the Account Manager is to handle overall accounting and finance operations in Egypt and establish liaison between different teams based in Egypt and overall finance. Deliver on reporting and compliance needs by ensuring following outcomes: 

  • Managing all accounting and financial operations topics for Egypt office 
  • Supervise Egypt accounting team and ensure timely and accurate month end closing, smooth banking and fund operations, authorized and timely payments to captain, merchants & vendors, ensuring timely issuance of invoicing & recoveries from customers
  • Managing all the stakeholders across the Egypt, Basecamp and other Careem entities


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth banking operations, reconciliations and fund management
  • Deliver monthly financials with the required proofing as per financial closing calendar
  • Ensure Procure to Pay (P2P) compliance in day to day operations and regular vendor reconciliations
  • Ensure invoicing to customers raised timely with follow ups mechanisms to ensure timely recoveries and/or adjustments and reconciliations
  • Ensure financials local GAAP conversion and liaison with local contacts to ensure financials can be converted from IFRS to local GAAP and audited
  • Ensure smooth financial audits and support tax team in their financials information needs
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations


  • Degree in Accounting 
  • Working experience of at least 7 years with 3 years in accounting leadership roles
  • Proven track of stakeholder management and ensuring key deliverables within time
  • Skilled of working with ERPs
  • Good technical proficiency coupled with analytical skills
