Senior People Operations & Advisory Manager

What will be keeping you busy?

We have bold and ambitious goals to drive a critical change in the way we provide services to our Colleagues and our Leaders - transitioning to a new best in class HRMS that will empower our people through self service. A core focus of our People Operations & Systems Team which this role will be a part of.

The heart of our colleague's experience journey sits in the remit of this role holder. You will be responsible for overseeing and developing some of the team's core function areas, such as Colleague Advisory Management, our colleague’s experience journey and change management projects. You will join a team of like minded people gurus spread across all of Careem’s markets and verticals. This successful person in this role will be a strong strategic thinker, negotiator, and forecaster of business and project needs with an ambitious and proactive ethos. The role reports to the Director of People Operations & Systems and requires an assertive and tenacious person to continue towards our growth model.

Responsibilities include:

  • Migrate, and develop further, our colleague case management function, transitioning a smooth implementation of workflow and release throughout the business.
  • Collaborate with COE’s (center of expertise) to ensure we have the best systems, processes, policies and interventions in place for the colleague life cycle at Careem.
  • Creating and implementing policies, processes and structures to support a rapidly expanding business, including reporting on effectiveness of use metrics.
  • Develop team education on international government employment regulations, Labour Law, and people & change management.
  • Advocate and improve collaboration between Talent Acquisition and business stakeholders in order to drive performance and best outcomes in recruitment and onboarding.
  • Proactively lead onboarding cohort management including assessment, exception processes, and evaluation of operational effectiveness in order to meet businesses growth models.
  • Work closely alongside your line manager to enhance performance and productivity of the team's core functions, their inclusive nature, team visibility and management.
  • Spearhead formalization projects, such as policies, processes and guidance enabling activities, including prioritization of key business risk areas for a proactive approach.
  • Active role in People Team projects, building a pipeline of core change management projects throughout the business, continually assessing areas for improvement, proposing solutions regularly with the wider team.
  • Work with People Operations & Systems, Finance and ERP teams towards timely fulfillment of the team's upcoming payroll, advisory and systems projects.
  • Transforming, implementing and educating across the business on key function areas.
  • Guide and support business leaders in the introduction and implementation of initiatives developed to drive operating efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 9+ years of experience in an HR generalist leadership role.
  • Experience working with globally dispersed teams, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization.
  • Proven business acumen and ability to integrate people and business strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously, providing regular updates to workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of international employment law and immigration practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment

Minimum qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management / Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD related certifications are advantageous.
  • Change management training is desirable.

 

Languages

  • Fluent English, in both reading and writing.
  • Additional languages are advantageous.
