About the Team

Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space. 

As a Business development Manager for monetization, you’ll be responsible for framing and driving the monetization strategy to start with, and lead monetization as a function within Careem groceries. You will be working with stakeholders (both internal and external) to drive the monetization agenda across Careem

 

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for managing strategy and execution of Ads/monetization from brands in Careem Grocery
  • Define pricing strategy, set guardrails, build roadmap for monetization
  • Work closely with the product team to define monetization roadmap priorities
  • Work with commercial and other business development teams of Careem to generate more sales for monetization
  • Develop and maintain relationships with FMCG brands and lead the selling process for large and strategic accounts 
  • Work with all stakeholders to drive up the ROI for the brands from the ads
  • Program manage internally (with product, marketing, commercial teams) to execute the deals agreed with brands

What you’ll need

We’re looking for someone with an amazing understanding of the Ads tech industry who can help us scale our monetization revenues. The ideal candidate should have a blend of both sales execution and program management skills

  • At least 4+ years of experience in the Ad tech industry
  • Business development/Sales experience on selling to brands is an added advantage
  • Program management experience is a plus
  • You are an excellent communicator with any audience – You can easily explain complex concepts to people of any level
  • Excellent stakeholder management - to drive ownership and ensure end-to-end execution of priorities   
  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, fast-paced startup environment and solve problems independently
