About the team 

Careem Pay’s vision is to become the leading digital financial services platform of the region serving consumers, partners and merchants. It’s purpose is to empower people to lead better lives by simplifying their payment experiences and access to financial services. 

As an early-stage start-up within Careem, we are building a team of energised, start-up-minded and ambitious colleagues who are super excited about the massive fintech opportunity in the region.

As a Product Manager in the Careem Pay team, you will be leading and owning products and services that enable paying experience for customers and captains (drivers) in a delightful and compliant fashion across the Middle East and North Africa.

What you'll do

As a product operations manager you will:

  • Lead the payment operation function in partnership with your counterpart in product and engineering.
  • Drive operation improvement to the platform and existing processes
  • Work with all partners to identify and improve point of failures, to resolve incidents, document processes, accountability, and performance.
  • Follow up and manage escalations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage data to implement changes, influence product roadmap to drive improvements in customer care experience, operational efficiencies, and platform performance.
  • Hands on experience in Data Analytics to identify opportunities for improving the customers experience
  • Working closely with the care team and product team to improve the NPS score of our operstions

What you'll need 

  • 5+ years of experience in payments, operations, and partner management experience, in a technology or financial services company.
  • Strong technical acumen and experience partnering with top engineers working on complex product initiatives in an agile environment.
  • Strong problem solving, and logical structuring abilities to solve problems without well-defined direction
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, both on the Payments team and in the rest of the company, clearly and concisely.
  • An Engineering background is a plus

  • Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home. 
  • You’ll be working in the location you’re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based in the country you’re hired from as your primary work location.
