Graphic Designer (Job Description)

    About the Role


This role is based out of Karachi/Lahore, Pakistan and reports to the brand director. You will be part of the brand and reputation team and will be responsible for developing visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate Careem’s different stakeholders. 


The purpose of the graphic designer role is to develop creative content as per the Careem brand guidelines for the brand & reputation team and various functions across the organisation. The Graphic Designer (GD) will be working closely with the central brand team on creative ideas and will be responsible for timely development and delivery of all creative content. Example of tasks include, development of social media content (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), informational GIFs, flyers, posters, short videos and other media that the teams see fit for various campaigns. The Graphic Designer (GD) will also be involved in the creative ideation process for various campaigns. 

Key Responsibilities


  • Create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts
  • Innovate ideas / themes in graphical form for various requirements coming from the brand and reputation team
  • Develop graphics and layouts for posters, logos, displays etc
  • Develop GIFs and short motion videos for both internal and external audience 
  • Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed
  • Conceptualise and execute the creative design strategy for various campaigns
  • Collaborate with social media team for content creation on different platforms
  • Support internal communication team with creative content 
  • Work on proactive creative ideas to build on Careem’s brand strength  




  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design
  • 4+ years' of graphic design experience
  • 2+ years of video creation/editing experience
  • Proficient in using design softwares such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Strong typography skills
  • A strong portfolio showcasing examples of good design and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to take a holistic view on projects and think of start to end scenarios to deliver around all aspects of a project
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced iterative environment - Incorporating feedback, launching quickly, setting measures for success and continuously shooting for the moon
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
