Cardiosense is a digital health company that operates at the intersection of wearable technology and artificial intelligence to improve patient health. Our mission is to use physiological waveform data to predict cardiac illness and enable early interventions so people can enjoy healthier, longer lives.

To achieve our mission we are building a physiological waveform AI platform to develop predictive biomarkers to detect and manage cardiac disease. The company has developed a suite of novel digital tools, multi-sensor devices, and analysis algorithms for use by care providers to detect clinical worsening earlier, inform personalized therapy, and improve patient outcomes.

Our team brings together experts in data science, electronics, and healthcare and has partnered with leading healthcare and academic institutions to introduce the next generation of patient waveform monitoring and analytics solutions.


As Principal Architect, you will play a strategic leadership role in:

  • Designing and leading implementation of a technical strategy to scale our data platform for a larger team
  • Drive technical strategies and technology decisions
  • Review designs of major software components, systems, and features
  • Collaborate with management in building out software team
  • Mentor other team members on design techniques and coding standards


  • Own overall end-to-end system architecture and unified data model spanning across devices, software applications, and cloud data platform
  • Design data acquisition pipelines to ingest, index, and store physiological signal data from both Cardiosense and third-party devices
  • Define, implement, and manage APIs using microservices/container-based architecture
  • Quality control
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, FDA-regulated software
  • Coach and mentor technical leads and developers



  • 10+ years of hands-on software development experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing development teams through full product lifecycle: from concept, through commercialization, to production maintenance
  • Experience designing and developing full stack products
  • Experience with Agile development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
  • Hands-on development experience in Java, Spring, microservices, containerization and database systems (RESTful, Docker, Kubernetes, Node.JS, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, and/or other big data technologies
  • Experience with distributed data streaming platforms (ex. Kafka)


  • Master’s, PhD, further education or equivalent practical experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Data science expertise including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning approaches, NLP, clustering, deep neural networks, and other data mining techniques
  • Experience managing development of regulated software in the healthcare and medical industry
  • Experience with time-series data storage and analytics
  • Experience with digital signal processing, embedded systems, and bio-signals analysis
  • Experience with public cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Exposure to healthcare IT or medical devices, HIPAA, and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, etc.)
