About the role

  • Build scalable, fault-tolerant batch and realtime data pipelines to power Capsule’s consumer and internal applications, operational workflows, and business intelligence
  • Help manage Capsule’s data infrastructure which spans an array of AWS managed services and self-hosted open source big data technologies
  • Build data driven features into our Django webapp and React front end
  • Answer complex questions by diving into data spread across many disparate sources
  • Work closely with both non-technical reporting customers and fellow engineers to design a data platform that makes Capsule’s data accessible to and usable by everyone
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers on AWS infrastructure improvements

About you

  • Fluency in at least one general purpose programming language (Python, Java, Scala, Go, Ruby, C++, etc…)
  • Comfortable with SQL

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience building scalable batch and realtime data pipelines
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, RDS
  • Experience with data technologies such as Presto, Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, HBase
  • Experience with dockerization, Kubernetes
  • Experience building Machine Learning pipelines
  • Experience in an agile startup environment
  • Experience at a healthcare technology company
