The Role 

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will constantly examine the entire software development lifecycle from source to production. Collaborate with internal teams to build a workflow that enables our software engineers to code and ship software rapidly. 

Your aim as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is to help Capital On Tap advance its platform and processes to elevate the user experience. This will be done by investigating, testing, and designing improvements and changes to keep the platform and infrastructure up-to-date and in accordance with industry standards.

You will also be tasked with reducing the cognitive load, toil, and repetitive manual work a Software Engineer goes through by building and maintaining key internal developer platforms that can be used in a self-service manner.

 

This role can be fully remote within the UK, or Hybrid - working from our London offices 1-2 days per week

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to multiple teams across the business function (Data Science, Data Engineering, Security, Development and QA).
  • Build new and manage existing Azure services and resources with a focus on performance, security, scalability and resiliency in mind.
  • Proactively support Platform services and tooling (TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps & more to come).
  • Create and manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Pulumi.
  • Advise internal teams on infrastructure best practices (HA), container orchestration, monitoring and cloud security.
  • Help evolve our CI/CD processes to include code quality testing, security scanning, load testing and infrastructure validations. 
  • Staying abreast of industry movements and best practices.

 

About you

  • 3+ years experience in Azure.
  • Proficiency in either Powershell, Python, or C#.
  • Exposure to at least one CI/CD tool, preferably on Azure DevOps or Octopus.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and/or Pulumi.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Working knowledge of the agile methodology.
  • Experience working with a cloud monitoring system. 
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 will be advantageous.
