Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS/IWS) - Scheduler & Application Support distributed systems
Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years working with Tivoli Workload Scheduler or equivalent scheduling software is a must. (Experience with a distributed platform preferred).
- Minimum 2 years reviewing/configuring/designing/implementing scheduling requests based on received user documentation/instructions.
- Experienced with directly investigating/troubleshooting and providing solutions to scheduling issues.
- Ability to regularly exercise a high degree of independent judgment in high pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within and outside of the group.
- Candidates must possess good verbal communication skills over the phone
- Candidates must be able to manage and prioritize multiple critical tasks and issues concurrently.
- Has knowledge and hands on experience with Linux operating system and commands are essential and beneficial.
- Has basic knowledge and hands on experience with Windows Server operating system and command line commands.
- Basic understanding of AGILE methodology.
- Additional Skills (not mandatory):
- Basic programming and scripting ( bash /perl / awk ) knowledge and experience beneficial.
- Any knowledge or experience with the following is beneficial:
- Basic understanding of networks
- Basic understanding of IBM DB2
- Basic understanding of application processing
- Basic understanding of JIRA, Confluence & ServiceNow.
- Basic understanding of Cloud computing
- Bitbucket, IBM Connect:Direct/NDM, IBM Websphere, IBM Tivoli Monitoring software is useful
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will interact with application teams across the firm in providing various TWS support function roles in supporting the multiple scheduling environments.
- The candidate will provide day-to-day scheduling and operational support, and troubleshooting for related support services, including, but not limited to, monitoring, executing, and controlling batch processing.
- The candidate will monitor and manual execute actions as requested and authorized to do against batch processing streams and jobs.
- The candidate shall troubleshoot routine batch processing errors to isolate cause of failures, and initiate recovery actions working with application developers, functional analysts, engineers and other IT specialists.
- Participate in work assignments which may include scheduled and non pre-scheduled additional hours before/after shift, weekends, and holidays as required by the group, department and firm to ensure needed coverage and staffing.
Work Timing and On Call:
- Shift: Should be flexible to support any 9 hour shift within 24 hour window during weekdays. 24X7 rotational
- Shift Timings – 11:30 PM – 8:30 AM IST, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM IST, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM IST, 5:30 PM IST – 02:30 AM IST
- Additional work hours as needed to complete scheduling requests. On-call support required on planned Weekends on rotational basis.
