We're seeking a skilled Cloud Solution Architect with expertise in AWS Lambda preferably to join our Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing the architecture for one of the biggest global bank following the best practices. The project is part of a company-wide program to modernize and transform existing On-Premise IT systems and infrastructure for product sales and servicing, to a modern AWS cloud-based system (with On-Prem integration) accessible by both the employees, new and external clients, as well as existing clients.

THINGS YOU WILL DO

  • Collaborate closely with Project/Enterprise Architect and Systems Analysts to jointly build a comprehensive and complete Solution Architecture design aligned with technical capabilities/restrictions of the system components (equivalent to C4's C1+C2 models)
  • Create detailed designs, technical in nature, for the development team (equivalent to C4's C3 model), which include:
    • API design - HTTP+JSON and REST contracts between components, error handling, traceability, security and encryption, PII management, SSO, AAA
    • Component design - frameworks used, backend systems used, configuration management, observability 
    • Data Design - data models, data validation rules, data integrity
    • Sequence diagrams, Data Flow diagrams
    • Use-Case study
    • Various technical suggestions and recommendations, like libraries, encryption methods, algorithms, etc
  • Ensure that the development adheres and complies with the drawn-out Solution Architecture design
  • Closely work with the development team, serve as a solution advisor on the big-picture, be able to guide and instruct developers on their development approach
  • Closely work with System Analysts in the data modeling and interface modeling phases, suggest and advise on component integration points 
  • Collaborate on a program-level technical advisory board, suggest improvements to the technology stack
  • Comply with the project stardards: technical, functional, non-functional, industry, national and legal
  • Manage trade-offs between speed to market, quality and financial impact 
  • Attend requirements meetings and analysis meetings
  • Produce and constantly update project's Technical Documentation to be up-to-date.

 

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of Solution Architect experience in a large, enterprise level environment
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise, application and information architecture design
  • 5+ years of software development experience (no specific software development experience specified)
  • Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture, databases, and data modeling techniques
  • Strong experience with real-time and batch interface design and implementations, including sequence diagrams and documentation
  • Strong experience designing and implementing micro-services
  • Strong experience with SOAP/XML and RESTFUL/JSON schema design and implementation
  • Strong experience with database structures and relational database design and modeling

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Previous banking/finance experience
  • Previous experience working on digitization projects
  • Previous experience working on mobile or online banking channels projects/groups
  • Experience with Hadoop migration projects/initiatives

 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written are a MUST
  • Strong facilitation/negotiation skills are a MUST
  • Ability to influence members of management and advocate for a solution whilst facing criticism is a MUST
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and multi-task numerous initiatives. 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field
