Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with stakeholders to align work to the roadmap and overall product vision
  • Builds and manages the product backlog actively
  • Tracks work in progress daily and KPIs
  • Creates, refines, and clarifies user stories with clear description and acceptance criteria
  • Creates clearly defined business and functional requirements and work with the development team to create additional technical requirements
  • Leads all Scrum events: backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives etc.
  • Triages incoming requests from the business, escalating as needed
  • Communicates and follows through with appropriate business units as required
  • Analyses and refines business cases and stakeholder ideas to help prioritize roadmap features
  • Defines and communicates sprint goals for each sprint
  • Engages and works closely with the development team to help determine the best technical implementation methods, as well as a reasonable execution schedule
  • Documents business processes and workflows and suggests improved flows as necessary

 

Requirements:

• Able to manage multiple simultaneous initiatives and proactively respond to business needs
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to the innovative organization's changing needs and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to understand the product and its features
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using agile methodologies
• Ability to write user stories that capture the problem being solved for the business
• Ability to write business and functional requirements from a technical perspective while covering business needs
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoy working in a small team environment along with collaboration with remote teams
• Strong understanding of Jira
• Collaborative, Organized, Proactive, Detail-oriented, Personable
• Experience in Banking area required (payments)

Experience and Education:

  • University degree
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a product owner
  • Experience in fintech and payments industry
  • Experience with prototyping and UI design a plus
  • Experience working on small technical teams using Scrum
  • Scrum certifications a plus
