Role Description  

As a Capco Head of  DevOps you will;  

  • Provide thought leadership in DevOps culture, principles & practical applications.
  • Be passionate about bringing new innovative customer solutions to market with precision focus on great user and client outcomes. 
  • Have the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-experts with eloquence and confidence to CxO level stakeholders. 
  • Have a holistic awareness and understanding of new technologies being used in finance and other industries and love to experiment to solve business problems.  
  • Be effective and comfortable working across multiple projects and commercial opportunities at any one time.    
  • Be restless in the pursuit of quality and improvement of the engineering team that is forming the future of finance.  

Skills & Expertise 

You will have some or all of the following skills & experiences:  

  • Expert leadership in the Software Development Lifecycle with a DevOps mindset 
  • Software Engineering background with hands-on coding experience before building and leading high performing engineering teams. 
  • Experience leading teams of Principal, Senior & Junior engineers with evidence of coaching and growing talented engineers. 
  • Great communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
  • Hands-on experience managing high maturity in Scrum / Agile / DevOps teams. 
  • Personal passion for improving processes with tools and automation.  
  • Experience recruiting and interviewing for a fast-growth business area.  
  • Background building production grade platforms utilising IaC, CI/CD and observability tools. 
  • Background in delivering complex software applications into production with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of DevOps   
  • Extensive knowledge of modern technology trends, especially in the Cloud space.  

Desirable  

  • Experience/understanding of multiple cloud providers, Kubernetes, Terraformsecurity automation and related tools 
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of Designers, Testers & Product Owners 
  • Comfortable producing technical materials as part of pitches and commercial work.
