Canvas is bringing automation to the construction industry. Our small but growing team has spent the past two years engineering and developing a brand new type of machine. Now, we are deploying on commercial job sites.

We need a Construction Accounting and Operations Coordinator to support our Finance and HR team with the day to day operations behind our construction crew. Reporting into our VP of Finance this individual will get a view into all the operational components of our business and gain valuable experience building out processes from the ground up. Note that since this role will be working with our construction crew, some work hours may run from 6am to 3pm PDT.

Prior bookkeeping experience
Bilingual (Spanish / English), a plus
Finance, accounting, or prior admin work experience a plus
What You’ll Do:
Manage Union reporting, process payroll for trade labor, and certified payroll for projects
Manage union employee onboarding (i.e. I-9 document verification, safety orientation, and other required training)
Assist with A/P (code and pay invoices), A/R (submit invoices and lien releases), and employee expense reports and reimbursements
Coordinate project compliance documents such as insurance certificates, safety documents, and local hire or labor compliance forms
Assist with month-end close procedures, providing valuable reports to our VP of Finance
Support annual insurance, workers compensation, and union audits, along with other finance and compliance related work

This role operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and monitors. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some ability to move laptops, open cabinets and bend or stand as necessary is required.
