About the role:

As the lead firmware engineer, you will be a key cross functional team member responsible for the definition, development and delivery of our embedded software on our device. You will be working closely with the mechanical, electrical, software and cloud teams to deliver a whole new class of product. The embedded software will encompass everything from the UI/UX elements on the touchscreen, to the wifi and ethernet interfaces and down to the control elements in the hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Lead firmware development and team across all company products and projects
  • Hands-on development of RTOS and/or Embedded Linux code bases across core services, drivers, and algorithms from prototyping through production
  • Firmware architecture definition, promote hardware system architecture
  • Develop algorithms around hardware system such as high accuracy fluidics, communication across system abstractions, power tree
  • Technical representative and contributor in cross functional initiatives and projects
  • Mentor and lead other firmware engineers

 

Key qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in embedded systems firmware development, with at least 2 products to production
  • Experience configuring and integrating RTOS and/or Embedded Linux on ARM, and vendor SDK packages
  • Experience with standard embedded systems protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART
  • Experience with high level interface protocols w/ SDK such as USB, Wifi, Bluetooth, TCP/IP
  • Experience performing and leading test/QA initiatives
  • Comfort with electrical design fundamentals and schematics
  • Team leadership with other firmware engineers
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
