Successful candidates will join Wayfair as Senior Managers and will be placed into key functions across the business dependent on a combination of interest, skills and experience, and growth potential.

Competitive Intelligence is focused on how to optimize Wayfair’s strategic positioning in its rapidly evolving competitive landscape. This cross-functional and entrepreneurial team is building cutting edge ‘Big Data’ and Advanced Analytics capabilities that impact every major business function at the company; this unique, external market perspective complements our robust internal data to help the organization make smarter decisions. Past projects have included: developing first-ever dynamic visualizations that enable category managers to optimize our product selection, creating products that track competitor movements and assess relative strategic importance over time, and building dashboards that illuminate competitors’ marketing strategies and spending behavior.
North America Retail - Category Management
Category Management is composed of Wayfair’s lead merchandising teams focused on generating high revenue growth. Dedicated teams run category-specific businesses, such as furniture, bedding, seasonal décor, lighting, tabletop, and are responsible for managing the overall health of the category, primarily by building and growing strong supplier relationships. In addition to category teams, we have curation-focused teams that drive category strategy through lifestyle brands, promotions, exclusive brand development, catalog design and 3D visualization & operations.
The Global Merchandising department is responsible for owning and maintaining Wayfair’s e-commerce catalog comprised of over 10 million+ products. Our department consists of multiple teams who each play a crucial role in defining and executing on ‘best in class’ merchandising. The Merchandising Operations teams drives the management of our enormous product catalog and provides suppliers with tools to continually expand our product assortment. The Vertical Merchandising team focuses on improving the customer’s onsite shopping experience, while the Data Integrations & Analytics team leverages Big Data to optimize internal merchandising processes. Together these teams deliver on key merchandising goals.
Our Marketing team drives growth for Wayfair on every major advertising platform. We aren’t your standard marketers: we own the strategy, P&L, and product roadmaps for our portfolio of bleeding-edge and in-house-built marketing and AdTech products. We leverage them to acquire high potential customers and engage them to come back again and again. We have petabytes of first and third party data at our fingertips; what makes us successful is using that data to build algorithms and automated solutions to take our “Zillions thing home” offering and personalize it to each and every customer. We are hiring for a variety of roles on our Marketing team - product managers for our 1:1 personalized customer messaging platform, CMOs and strategists for our brands and categories, and ambassadors for the customer experience on and off site. Operations General Management
Operations General Management in Wayfair covers a broad-based continuum that includes: Supplier Operations, International Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Operational Excellence, Sales and Service, Global Delivery, Customer Experience Center of Excellence, and more. The Operations team develops and executes transformational strategies that generate game-changing competitive advantage and enduring customer satisfaction. Roles in Operations combine strategy with hands on execution and the ability to own and drive results. Dedicated teams work directly with suppliers, vendors, customers and internal stakeholders to provide new levels of efficiency and performance supporting all Wayfair businesses globally. Success relies on innovative problem solving, strong business acumen, quantitative skills and collaboration with external and internal partners.
Operations Analytics serves as internal, cross-functional analytics consultants supporting the Operations group and senior leadership team on a wide array of strategic and operational decisions including network and transportation design, 3rd-party carrier strategy, warehouse footprint optimization, facility capacity forecasting, and inventory planning.

Profit Management balances the critical trade-off between short- and long-term profit and top-line growth across Wayfair’s sites, geographies, and categories. In order to answer thorny strategy questions that guide go-to-market strategy, we leverage unique, proprietary, and massive datasets, along with highly quantitative business analytics and cutting-edge data science techniques, and a constant flow of experimentation on consumer response. As the owners of Wayfair’s pricing and related algorithms, Profit Management then develops/tests into pricing strategies that support our growth plan, manages the related impact for the broader ecosystem of algorithms at Wayfair, and works closely with cross-functional partners to ensure that the merchandising, marketing, and operational strategies are aligned. We are looking for candidates who are excited about thinking critically about business strategy, analyzing large sets of data and experimenting, demystifying how key algorithms work and influence each other, and collaborating with a cross-functional group of business partners on high-impact initiatives.
Strategic Business Operations for Data Science Products
The Algorithms team at Wayfair creates best-in-class algorithmic products using advanced machine learning and economics. These products produce decision frameworks, data artifacts and tools to effectively guide business strategies and decisions across pricing optimization, supply chain optimization and marketplace growth. Product Strategy & Operations roles span across setting global product strategy; guiding business strategy using actionable insights generated by leveraging data and analytical techniques; supporting ongoing business needs through high impact shorter-term innovations; working alongside Product Managers, Data Scientists and Engineers to scope longer-term product innovations; and managing a cross-functional group of stakeholders to align on key business needs, drive product adoption and discuss progress updates. Success relies on thinking critically about business strategy, innovative problem solving, strong quantitative skills to analyze large sets of data and demonstrated success in collaborating with a cross-functional group of external and internal partners on high-impact initiatives.

What You’ll Need
- Second-year MBA candidates with a strong track record of academic excellence (strong preference for quantitative backgrounds: mathematics, economics, etc.)
- Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
- Strong track record of success with progression in level of responsibility and scope
- Executive presence with ability to clearly and consistently work side-by-side with a broad range of partners and functions from CEO to customer service to deliver against complex initiatives complete on-time, on-budget, and over target
- Ability to multi-task, and pivot readily and react to real-time data
- Comfortable in a data-driven business environment
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
- Familiarity with Excel, SQL, and Test and Learn practices is a plus
