CAMP is a Family Experience Company that helps answer the question “What should we do today?” through a unique combination of Retail & Media. Launched in December of 2018, CAMP operates nine retail locations in New York, Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, California, and New Jersey, and serves families everywhere via its digital platforms.
CAMP will open stores in other major markets in the coming months.
What is the Role?
CAMP is looking for a Director of Merchandise Operations. You will evolve and manage merchandise operations capabilities, process and standards. We’ll count on you to build a foundation and team that will scale how we bring merchandising programs to life across our sales channels. This role reports to CAMP’s Chief Operating Officer and works on the CAMP Labs team.
What will you do at CAMP?
- Process & Procedures: Designing and implementing SOP’s to drive the success and efficiency of the merchandising function, focused on the “how”. Work closely with buying, supply chain and eCommerce to create a clean cross-functional workflow that integrates across teams
- Product Data Management: Developing and maintaining a workflow for product creation and management. Maximizing the efficiency of CAMP’s ERP system to maintain up to date data across our assortment. Onboard resources/team to support product set up and maintenance
- Product Content Management Leading the merchandising partnership with marketing, eCommerce and 3rd party partners to execute the development of photography and copy with speed
- Technology Capabilities: Sourcing and implementing technology that improves the merchandising function or merchandise store operations, such as purchase order management, assortment planning, product management and cross-functional collaboration
- Vendor Operations: Creating a framework for how we work with merchandise vendors including the initial onboarding and training through to compliance/vendor scorecard, supply chain and finance
- Store Execution / Promotions: Defining processes and project manage the execution of merchandising rollouts including assortment changes, pricing promotions, theme changes or other activities within the marketing calendar
- Purchase Order Management: Scaling CAMP’s purchase order management capabilities inclusive of technology, team and process
What will you bring to CAMP?
- Minimum of 7+ years work experience in merchandise operations
- Experience working in a retail or, preferably both at scale and in a growth operation
- Management experience building and leading a team across multiple functional areas
- Strong understanding of retail technology
- Extremely detail oriented, diligent, thorough and analytical
- Passionate about delivering memorable experiences to diverse customers online and offline
- Desire to be part of a tight knit team looking to transform the traditional retail experience
- Holding yourself and your employees/team to high standard
- You are not afraid to jump in where needed - no task is too big or too small for you and you are willing to throw down and help your team before you are asked
- You are authorized to work lawfully in the United States
