About the Company

CAMP is a Family Experience Company that helps answer the question “What should we do today?” through a unique combination of Retail & Media. Launched in December of 2018, CAMP operates five retail locations in New York, Texas and Connecticut and serves families everywhere via its digital platforms.

What is the Role? 

We are looking for Part-Time Store Experience Associates to join our CAMP New York City team. You will have a home store location but at times will be asked to rotate between any of our New York City locations (CAMP Downtown Brooklyn, CAMP 5th Avenue, CAMP Columbus Circle). You will report to the General Manager (GM) of your home store location and be responsible for guiding all of CAMP’s diverse customers and families through our entertaining and memorable family retail experience. 

Support store experience activities including:

  • Engaging families throughout CAMP play experience with socially distant storytelling and active play.
  • Ensuring that child care, play, and activity programming are upholding the highest standard of health, safety, and engagement. 
  • A performative welcome in front of and behind the magic door.
  • Product sales and demos.
  • Assisting with the preparation and safe facilitation of all family programs and events.
  • Providing product expertise & personalized shopping experiences. 
  • Dedicated time, when approved, to develop and prepare activity curriculum.
  • Run CAMP’s A/V system to support activities when necessary.
  • Maintaining the safety and health standards of our team, customers, and community.
  • Additional support as needed. You are excited to dive in, build quickly, and accomplish amazing amounts of important work.

Support store retail activities including:

  • Managing the cash wrap and POS experience.
  • Operating the gift wrapping station.
  • Managing the stroller and coat check area.
  • Serving food and beverages at the canteen.
  • Assisting in floor merchandising and stock replenishment activities, including maintaining an organized and stocked floor during open hours.
  • Additional support as needed. You are excited to dive in, build quickly, and accomplish amazing amounts of important work.

What is required?

  • Ability to work on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.  Additional availability throughout the week is also a plus!
  • At times you may be asked to flex between our New York City locations (Downtown Brooklyn, 5th Avenue, & Columbus Circle).
  • Some work experience in any of the following areas: retail, child care, child development/ education, performing arts.
  • Excellence, enthusiasm, and excitement around engaging with children and families creatively.
  • Desire to be part of a tight-knit team looking to transform the traditional retail experience.
  • Holding yourself and your team to high standards.
  • Patience, warmth, joy, and humor.
  • Bonus but not required: you may have hidden talents that can add magical moments to our retail experience.

What are the physical demands?

  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights, go up and down a ladder
  • Exposure to outdoor elements such as sun, precipitation, and wind
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store
  • Ability to safely operate manual and electrical equipment
