About the role:

As a Strategic Finance Manager, you bring a strong corporate finance skillset to build models, analyses, and presentations that are relied upon by Cameo executives for strategic decision making. 

You are comfortable with ambiguity, and approach complex financial problems with enthusiasm, empathy, and a growth mindset. 

When faced with a problem, you understand the right question to ask; you can structure an analysis and synthesize the results; and you effectively communicate the key takeaways to the appropriate audience. 

You are able to identify areas of improvement in the business, propose creative solutions, and bring those solutions over the finish line with cross-functional buy in. 

Ultimately this role will be instrumental in helping Cameo hit its financial and operational targets, and will be relied upon as a trusted member of a data-driven Strategic Finance team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building robust bottoms-up models to drive strategic decision making around investment and growth targets. Example projects include:

    • Constructing a comprehensive revenue forecasting model that aligns to the operational KPIs that will drive our product, marketing, and talent strategies in 2022.

    • Working with Product and Operations leadership to forecast new business lines and the investment toll gates required for each.

    • Building pricing models for new products that align with near term growth targets and long term scalability.

    • Assessing the ROI of paid marketing channels and experimental growth campaigns to build an effective and sustainable budgeting process for Marketing spend

    • Supporting Sales leadership with financial guidance around acquisition strategies designed to kick-start the growth of new verticals and markets on the supply side of our marketplace

  • Synthesizing historical trends in our financial data around seasonality and cohort growth to better support short-term and long-term forecasting capabilities 

  • Providing cross-functional KPI and operational support for the two-sided marketplace, including: supply and demand funnel analysis, unit economics, and other strategic projects.

  • Identifying new opportunities for investment and focus through competitive research and marketplace analysis.

  • Implementing new financial reporting procedures to support cross-functional leaders in the creation and execution of corporate budgets.

  • Working directly with Finance leaders and Exec team members on venture-capital specific finance, including: venture fundraising strategy, board and investor-facing materials, cap table management, and valuation analysis.

What you bring to the table:

  • 5-8 years of corporate finance experience at a venture-backed startup, management consulting firm, venture capital firm, or top-tier investment bank.

  • Ability to conceptualize and build complex financial models and present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. 

  • Firm grasp on revenue analysis, 3 statement financials, corporate accounting fundamentals, forecasting, and business intelligence.

  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to solving business problems.

  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to focus on a problem, ask insightful questions, reject presuppositions, and learn new concepts quickly.

  • A strong growth mindset coupled with an enthusiastic "run through walls" mentality.

  • The ability to work well under pressure while displaying exceptional attention to detail.

  • A high degree of adaptability and flexibility in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • Prior experience at a growth stage Internet/software company a plus.

  • Prior experience with a consumer software product, or consumer marketplace a plus.
