Summary 

The contract manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the creation, execution, and analysis of all stakeholder contracts, including those of Calyxo’s customers, suppliers, and consultants. This role will work closely with our sales team and internal functional leads to negotiate terms with external and internal stakeholders, ensure contracts meet legal requirements, and align with our company’s objectives. This position will report to our General Counsel and may be remote or hybrid, working from our Pleasanton office. Here are the key responsibilities and skills associated with this role: 

In This Role, You Will: 

  • Be the first point of contact for all contract types, including agreements with Calyxo’s customers, suppliers, and consultants. 
  • Review and redline inbound and outbound contracts, and partner with the internal functional leads to negotiate appropriate terms. 
  • Implement processes to streamline vendor approval submissions on behalf of the company during the initial phases of new customer acquisition, including identifying information to escalate to General Counsel or Finance.  
  • Select, implement, and manage a contract management system/database for all company contracts, including regularly circulating internal reports regarding contract renewals and expirations. 
  • Ensure contract terms comply with regulatory requirements such as FDA regulations, ISO standards, and other relevant industry standards.  

Who You Will Report To: 

  • General Counsel 

Requirements: 

  • EducationBachelors or Associates degree or equivalent experience in business administration, supply chain management, commercial operations, or related field. Paralegal experience is a plus. 
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in contract management with a strong preference for time spent working in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industries. Experience working for any type of manufacturer/supplier is a plus. 
  • Work location: Remote/Hybrid 
  • Proficiency in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software as needed. 
  • Detail-orientation with strong proof-reading skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to problem-solve unique situations by applying an established framework of contract/legal guidelines. 
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain constructive relationships internally and externally. 
  • Travel:  5-10%

  • Competitive base salary: 
    • San Francisco Bay Area - $100- $123k 
    • All other locations in the US: $85k-$100k
