Calm’s marketing team is working to lead the conversation around mental health. We’re curious about our consumers, their challenges, and how Calm can be a true tool for transformation. We are a highly cross-functional and collaborative team, developing work that sparks a cultural dialogue, expands what Calm is in the minds of consumers, and makes meaningful connections to the brand across the globe.

 

We are hiring remote workers for this role in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, or NYC areas. At this time, only candidates in these locations will be considered. 

 

What You’ll Do

The VP of Brand Marketing will solidify Calm’s standing as the #1 mental health brand through a combination of world-class creative, content, product, and brand marketing experiences. This role will report into the Chief Content Officer, collaborate closely with Calm leadership, and lead a team responsible for managing and shaping consumer perception of the Calm brand, ultimately enabling us to reach and support many millions more people on their mental health journey. Sample responsibilities include:

  • Manage, develop and inspire a team responsible for category-leading content, product, and brand marketing experiences
  • Own brand strategy: clarify positioning as well as target audience and how best to reach them; collaborate on brand guidelines to ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual representation across relevant touchpoints
  • Keep Calm top of mind through a consistent drumbeat of low-cost/high-return marketing initiatives that drive conversation and brand awareness
  • Supercharge content marketing efforts to drive traffic and engagement across channels, including email, app stores, web and social 
  • Leverage relevant KPIs and consumer insights to ensure the health of the brand as well as its continued evolution 
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external creative teams to ensure the development of stand-out campaigns; with Content and Product to amplify new releases; with PR to inspire earned media; with Growth to convert impressions into purchases; and with Enterprise to ensure consistent expression of the brand across the business

Minimum Requirements

  • This role typically requires 15+ years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years experience in relevant marketing leadership roles

 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $300,000 - $350,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
