This position will support SISU Extracts and will be based in Eureka, CA.


Extraction technicians are responsible for creating high quality, unrefined oleoresin ‘crude’. Technicians will train on and perform extraction operations using the CUP30 Ethanol Extraction System (and accompanying equipment), solvent recovery operations using the Bizzy-Bee Falling Film Evaporator, and micro-extractions using our Micro-extraction system.
Operators maintain the highest standards of efficiency, safety, cleanliness and accountability at all times. Proactive, can-do attitudes are our standard and we work very hard to maintain a positive, transparent and mutually supportive environment.
The position is a physical one, involving standing on one's feet for long periods of time, the ability to lift 50lbs and climb a ladder.

What You'll Do

  • Operate highly sophisticated extraction equipment and all associated support equipment.
  • Process crude oleoresin extracts and THC concentrates.
  • Clean and maintain extraction and post-processing equipment.
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all plants, chemicals and equipment used in the laboratory.
  • Operate, maintain, adjust and perform basic repairs to laboratory equipment such as vacuum pumps, diaphragm pumps, piston-type pumps, various small valves, balances, bench scales, falling film evaporators, recirculating heaters and chillers, and various other laboratory equipment.
  • Adhere to quality control procedures.
  • Dispose of waste according to state and local municipality guidelines.
  • Keep laboratory, store rooms and working areas immaculately clean.
  • Clean and sanitize laboratory glassware.
  • Perform clerical work related to laboratory activities and maintenance.
  • Comply with local and state guidelines requiring chain of custody of controlled substances.
  • Maintain inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Prepare requisitions as needed.
  • Ensure consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures.
  • Organize and store supplies and equipment

Working Environment

  • Operations: This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with uncontrolled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, extremely hot and cold surfaces, hazardous/flammable liquids and vapors, and working in close proximity with other operators and managers.
  • This job operates in a professional production laboratory environment and routinely uses standard industrial laboratory equipment.
  • This job routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, filing folders and binders, and may work in proximity with other operators and managers.
  • Must be able to travel to both Eureka and Arcata facilities.
