As a Senior Big Data Engineer at Caffeine, you will be building the data foundation to support Caffeine’s core products and premium partners. You will take key ownership of the key components of Caffeine’s data platform and associated services.

What You'll Do:

Provide technical leadership and hands-on skills in designing & implementing big data services.

  • Caffeine data platform: build new, realtime data services that support live and low-latency social broadcasting.
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Product, Content and Marketing to create the best user experience.
  • Own and maintain our internal data services supporting Product, Analytics, ML, and Engineering.
  • Role model of modern software development practices applied on data: build sophisticated data pipelines, write rigorous tests for the product features & instrument key services for operational visibility.

Who You Are & What You've Done:

  • 5+ years of big data engineering experience.
  • You have owned and maintained data services in the cloud (AWS preferred), from coding & testing to deployment & production uptime.
  • Excellent engineering background in big data toolbox, e.g. Python, Java, dbt, Spark, Kafka to name a few.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience in building highly performing and distributed data platforms.
  • Experience working in modern DataOps technologies: containerization, workflow orchestration, etc.
