Director, Strategic Finance

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented, analytical and highly motivated Director of Strategic Finance who is excited to be a crucial part of the finance team. This is a high-powered team with diverse perspectives composed of ex-IB, ex-PE and ex-consulting individuals. The role requires a strong understanding of core corporate finance, capital markets and corporate strategy. 

Reporting to the VP, Finance, you will be responsible for understanding the corporate business in depth, analyzing business performance, recommending strategic priorities to grow the platform, and then executing on those initiatives. You will lead strategic planning for the business, assisting with the company’s short-term and long-term financial forecasting, key metric analysis, and impactful financial reporting. Additionally, you will play a key role in other corporate activities, including investor relations, capital markets, corporate development / M&A, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the company
  • Build and maintain long-term consolidated company forecast model
  • Gain a deep understanding of business drivers and fundamentals to help solve complex business problems throughout the company
  • Conduct various ad-hoc financial analyses to drive key business decisions across the organization
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, and monthly budget to actual reporting
  • Serve as operational finance partner to business teams around the organization, helping to define key metrics that will driver our business and help measure our progress
  • Provide monthly financial reporting and insights, cost tracking, KPI reporting to different teams across the company
  • Work closely with Accounting team on monthly- and year-end close processes, annual audit, revenue reconciliation and cost tracking
  • Assist the Executive Team on Board level communications, including quarterly reporting packages and ad hoc analyses
  • Partner with the Executive Team on corporate development initiatives, including potential future fundraisings, M&A, new product development, etc.

WHAT YOU HAVE 

  • 6-8 years of work experience, including 3+ years in investment banking or private equity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • MS Excel mastery required (with experience in building financial models, analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports)
  • Corporate development / transaction experience a plus
  • Exceptional problem-solving, business judgment, and analytical skills
  • Relentlessly resourceful and able to drive projects autonomously from planning to implementation, with limited oversight
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity with exceptional work ethic, attention-to-detail and can-do/will-do attitude

The Base Salary for this role ranges from $175,000-$200,000 plus bonus and equity.  The final offer number for base is dependent on experience, both in industry and alignment with the role.
