Responsibilities (essential to the position)

o Functional Safety & System development:
- For Battery Electrical Vehicles,
- For Byton Powertrain Platform
- In-Line with Project Management Office

o Starting with Functional Safety concepts, and requirements for powertrain control systems:
- For Central Driving Intelligence [CDI / VCU]
- For Powertrain Electronics
- For Battery Pack and Battery Management Systems
- For Electric Motors
- With regards to Hardware, Software, Integration, and Validation
- Following ISO26262 standards


o Reviewing the system architecture:
- For Powertrain,
- With Connectivity, EE, Chassis, Interior counterparts
- As Powertrain Functional Safety expert


o Working with Quality, After-Sales, and Vehicle Integration experts from suppliers, and from Byton
- To develop Hazard Use cases
- To support System FMEA
- To assess Design FMEA
- To upgrade tools and process for functional safety, and quality


o Supporting Test & Validation (T&V) campaigns for Powertrain, and for Complete Vehicle Performances:
- Reviewing T&V results
- Proposing counter-measures
- Signing-off final System release


Experience

o B.S. in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical) w/ 5+ years of experience, OR…
o M.S. in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical) w/ 2+ years of experience
Skills (Required)

o Experience with CAN network architecture & development tools (CANalyzer/CANape)
o Experience in cross-functional system development
o Self-Motivating & Solution-Oriented
o Excellent Problem-Solving Skills
o Excellent Verbal, Written, & Presentation Skills
o Understanding of
- Vehicle embedded systems [Functions, Software, Hardware]
- Key Functions [Monitoring, Diagnostics, Torque path]
o Deep Knowledge of:
- V-Cycle [Software, System Integration, and Test & Validation]]
- ISO 26262
o Experience in
- Working with Tier-1 Automotive suppliers, and/or OEMs
- Full Powertrain System development, from cradle to grave,
Or
- in following a Functional Safety project
o Capability to have fun with complex engineering topics, and to communicate that passion to other colleagues

Skills (Desired)

o Experience with FMEA, CMMI, Automotive Spice, or Serial Life Quality projects
o Experience with Hybrid, or electrical Powertrain
o Proficiency in Matlab Simulink, JIRA, JAMA, and C++
o Ability to work in an international development team

o Location | Santa Clara, CA, USA / Nanjing, Jiangsu, China
o Must be willing to travel (international & domestic, < 10%)
