E/E Functional Requirements Engineer

You will be responsible for Byton E/E functional requirement and feature definition, covering end-to-end vehicle and digital platform features.


  • Develop functional vehicle & back-end / cloud requirements for the Byton E/E group
  • Understand the high-level system level requirements provided to the team and be comfortable decomposing them into concrete and measureable system, subsystem, and component level requirements
  • Ensure detailed requirements traceability, according to ISO26262 functional safety processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Byton Engineering, Marketing and Program Management
  • Ensure consideration and translation of region / country specific regulatory requirements to ensure compliance within the E/E systems and sub-systems
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with the requirements management and feature maturity process
  • Ensure E/E requirements are properly addressed in validation plans and met by the final product
  • Support testing and evaluation of specific behaviors at the system level
  • Contribute to in-vehicle functional and performance testing for vehicle SW build / integration events
  • Perform any other duties, as necessary, for achieving department goals of having fully documented requirements and complete test coverage



  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in system engineering, preferably in the E/E domain
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art requirement and issue management / collaboration tools (DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Automotive experience at an OEM or Tier 1
  • Demonstrated ability to develop requirements from the ground up
  • Must be self-motivated, with a desire to continuously improve and learn
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with tight timing constraints, providing examples of such scenarios throughout one’s career
