As Lead Vehicle Network Architect, you will lead our E/E Systems Network Architecture team.  The scope of responsibility includes: Network Architecture and Topology, Network Management and Signaling, and E/E Architecture Model Based Design.  The Lead EE Network Architect will report to the Manager of E/E Systems Engineering.  This position will lead a team of network architecture engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentor and lead network engineers
  • Make trade-offs between vehicle functionality, cost, weight, network architecture and wiring to optimize the electrical system
  • Model and design platform power mode/management strategies
  • Design network architecture for new features and platform optimization
  • Generate core network architecture requirements for the vehicle platform
  • Manage all signals and message interactions using model-based design
  • Provide design, specification, and evaluation of E/E architectures and network topologies
  • Evaluate and maintain end-to-end communication latency requirements
  • Drive relevant electrical system analysis in support of detailed systems design and architecture selection and ongoing architecture evolution
  • Support functional safety engineer(s) to define and verify safety requirements for E/E architecture
  • Lead the expansion of model-based E/E Architecture toolset

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS (preferred)
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with vehicle systems engineering/networking
  • Automotive experience at an OEM or Tier 1
  • Experience with model-based system design (preferably Vector PREEvision), vehicle electrical systems, vehicle messaging, CAN, LIN, Ethernet
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects with tight timing constraints, providing examples of such scenarios throughout one’s career.
  • Experience defining and implementing vehicle network architecture
  • Experience working efficiently with Tier 1 and internal teams to streamline and enforce architectural requirements
  • Experience defining and implementing vehicle electronic architecture
  • Deep understanding of automotive bus (especially Ethernet, CAN-FD) and communication technologies including AUTOSAR
